Come enjoy the thrill of ice skating in a winter wonderland created in the heart of downtown Raleigh! THE RINK presented by UNC Health features a natural ice skating rink with stunning views of the Raleigh skyline.

Tickets are for 2-hour skating sessions and are available online or in person at the Martin Marietta Center box office (M-F 10am-2pm).

 

The Red Hat Amphitheater box office will open 30 minutes prior to THE RINK hours of operation listed below. On site ticket availability may vary based on demand.

 

We strongly encourage you to purchase tickets in advance, as there are only a limited number of timeslots available for each day.

 

Skater Admission: $15* includes skate rental

Non-Skater Admission: $6*

*taxes and fees may apply

Ages 2+ require a ticket to enter.

SPECIAL NIGHTS & PROGRAMMING

We're working with community partners to bring special programming to THE RINK. 

  • Sunday, November 19th - Food Bank Donations - in partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. Give Thanks Drive. National Peanut Butter Lover’s Month – requesting peanut butter donations but will accept all nonperishable food donations.
  • Friday, November 24th – Football Friday – activation includes photo op, local brewery on site, lawn games and kid’s activities
  • Saturday, November 25th – Coat Drive – in partnership with Helping Hand Mission. Coats donation location outside Gate 1.
  • Sunday, November 26th – Triangle Spokes Groups & Crank Arm - in partnership with Triangle Spokes Group who will be taking on site donations and educating attendees on their organization. Crank Arm Brewing will be on site sampling.
  • Friday, December 1st – Clouds Brewing – Clouds Brewery will be on site sampling.
  • Friday, December 8th –  Crank Arm Brewing will be on site sampling.
  • Saturday, December 9th – Wake Up And Read – in partnership with Wake Up And Read who will be taking on site book donations and educating attendees on their organization. Staff will host a story time on site.
  • Friday, December 15th – Holiday Market – activation includes photo op, holiday vendors, Santa and carolers
  • Thursday, December 21st – Food Bank Donations - in partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. Frozen Foods & Winter Warm-Up – requesting soups, stews, hot cocoa, etc.
  • Friday, December 22nd – Trophy Brewing will be on site selling.
  • Saturday, December 23rd – Coat Drive - in partnership with Helping Hand Mission. Coats donation location outside Gate 1.
  • Friday, December 29 – NODA Brewing will be on site sampling.
  • Friday, January 5th – Flannel Friday & NODA Brewing – wear your favorite flannel! NODA brewing will be on site sampling.
  • Sunday, January 7th - Coat Drive - in partnership with Helping Hand Mission. Coats donation location outside Gate 1.
  • Thursday, January 11th – Throwback Thursday – activation includes photo op, 90s video and board games, local DJ playing 90s hits, specialty cocktail and 2-3 vinyl vendors selling records.
  • Saturday, January 13th - Food Bank Donations - in partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. National Soup Month – requesting donations of soups and stews.
  • Sunday, January 14th - Wake Up And Read – in partnership with Wake Up And Read who will be taking on site book donations and educating attendees on their organization. Staff will also host a story time on site.

Q: How to purchase tickets?

A: Tickets are for 2-hour skating session. We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as there are only a limited number of timeslots available for each day. Below are the options to purchase:

  • Onsite at Red Hat Amphitheater during THE RINK hours of operation *availability may vary based on demand.

Q: What size skates do you offer?

A: Children's size 9 and up, Men's up to size 13, Women's up to size 11

 

Q: Do you offer skate mates to assist small children with skating?

A: Yes, we have a limited number of skate mates available.

 

Q: Is skate rental included?

A: Yes, a skater admission ticket includes skate rental.

 

Q: Can I bring my own skates, and if so is there a discount?

A: You are welcome to bring your own skates. Skater admission is still $15 and those who bring their own skates must still sign a waiver.

 

Q: Do you have food and drinks?

A: Yes, there will be food and drink options available

 

Q: How many guests will fit in an igloo?

A: Igloos only fit 6 people in total.

 

Q: Do you have helmets available?

A: No, if you wish to use a helmet during your session, please bring one with you. 

 

Q: Can you reserve a skating assist?

A: No, our skating assists are first come, first served. We ask that you not take the assists away from the ice when you aren't using them to let others have a chance to use them. 

 

Q: What happens if there is inclement weather?

A: In the event of inclement weather, our social media pages will be updated regarding any changes or cancelations. Ticket purchasers will also receive an email with additional information regarding refunds.

*Please note that only tickets purchased through Ticketmaster and our box office will receive an email. Tickets bought through avenues other than Ticketmaster or the box office may be counterfeit, not guaranteed or refunded in the event of a cancelation, or may include higher services charges.
